Valved Catback Exhaust system
The Capristo Valved Catback Exhaust for the Maserati MC20 is a high-performance masterpiece designed to amplify the soul of the 3.0L Twin-Turbo "Nettuno" V6. While the factory MC20 is a technical marvel, its acoustic signature is often considered too reserved for a flagship supercar. Capristo resolves this with a T309 stainless steel system that delivers a high-frequency "racing" howl while maintaining the car's daily-driver usability.
Part No: 02 MA 092 03 014
Design & Aesthetic
-
Signature Tailpipe Customization: This system features Capristo's premium exhaust tips, consisting of an aluminum outer sleeve in Wicrom Black (a specialized black chrome) paired with a choice of inner sleeve finishes:
-
Anodized Colors: Black, Red, or Silver.
-
Precious Metal: Luxury Gold-plated inner sleeves.
-
-
T309 (1.4828) Stainless Steel: Chosen for its exceptional heat resistance (exceeding 600°C) and acoustic properties. This alloy is significantly more resonant and lighter than standard 304 stainless steel, offering a sound profile and durability comparable to Inconel used in Formula 1.
-
Hand-Finished Craftsmanship: Every system is 100% manufactured in Sundern, Germany, using advanced 3D laser-scanning and CAD design. Each unit is manually TIG-welded and hand-polished to a mirror finish.
Technology & Performance
-
Intelligent Valve Control: The system utilizes vacuum-actuated valve flaps. These are designed to integrate seamlessly with the original OEM actuators, meaning the car’s ECU continues to manage the sound modes via the factory Maserati drive settings.
-
Dual Personality:
-
Valves Closed: Produces a deep, sophisticated, and subdued exhaust note—perfect for early morning starts or long-distance cruising.
-
Valves Open: At wide-open throttle or in Sport/Corsa modes, the valves open to unleash the full, unrestricted symphony of the Nettuno engine.
-
-
Flow Efficiency: By optimizing the exhaust geometry and reducing backpressure, this system improves throttle response and aids in heat dissipation, ensuring the twin turbos operate at peak efficiency.
Technical Specifications
-
Fitment: 100% direct-fit to original mounting points; no cutting or permanent chassis modification required.
-
Weight Saving: Offers a significant reduction in unsprung weight compared to the bulky factory silencer setup (approximately 12kg weight saving in cat-back configuration).
Installation & Maintenance
-
Plug & Play: Designed to be installed by performance workshops using the car's existing electronic architecture.
-
Anodized Coating Warning: Capristo notes that due to the extreme heat generated by the MC20's high-performance V6, the color of anodized coatings may shift slightly over time—a characteristic common in high-end racing components
